Introduction to Interior Redesign

Would you like to redecorate your house, but don’t have the budget for an interior designer or brand-new furniture and accessories? In this new and exciting one-day workshop you can learn the same techniques used by designers to make your furniture, art, and accessory arrangements look like a million dollars without spending a dime.

In this course students are provided with comprehensive information on the common decorating dilemmas that most people face, along with strategies for how to solve these dilemmas. Gain insight into the best ways to redesign your home with an eye towards functionality and creativity by thinking outside the design box. Topics include:

  • Analyzing and identifying your home’s challenges and examining ways to overcome them
  • Assessing the functionality of your home
  • Using the right furniture for the right room
  • Showcasing art and accessories
  • Deciding how much lighting is needed, and how to achieve a balance
  • Exploring the use of color and blending the right mix throughout your home

Note: Please bring two tabletop accessories (bowl, frame, vase, candlestick, etc.) to class.

This course is provided through the University of California at Santa Barbara’s Extension Program. The program is held at two locations: the Goleta Campus and the Ventura satellite campus. To enroll in this workshop call UCSB at 805-893-4200, on the Web at www.extension.ucsb.edu or contact Pam for more information.
